February Letter 2019

February 6, 2019

Dear Faith Partner:

What an awesome month we’ve had in January!  It’s been everything the Lord said it would be and more. Since the beginning of this year, we have experienced God and the power of Holy Spirit in a mighty way and I believe it’s just the beginning of a supernatural year.

For many years we have heard many talking about a move of God and a great harvest; well this is it!  People of God, it’s time to sow, like we’ve never sown, in every area of our lives. It’s time to get involved beyond where we’ve been involved in times past.  Look at what Jesus said in John 4:34-38 (NLT).  “Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work. You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest. The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike! You know the saying, ‘One plants and another harvests.’ And it’s true. I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.”

It’s time NOW toLAUNCH OUT INTO THE DEEP!  If not now, when? I believe there’s been a shift in the atmosphere for manifestation of an abundant harvest this year.  Take some time to read Romans 10:17 and John 10:10 (AMPC).  I believe Holy Spirit is challenging us today to launch out just as Jesus challenged Peter in Luke 5:1-8. When we truly take the limits off of God, take Him at His Word, and launch out into the depths He is directing, we will begin to experience a harvest beyond our ability to take in alone.  Look at Luke 5:1-4 (KJV) “Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.”  Notice how The Passion Translation puts it, “Jesus sat down and taught the people from the boat. When he had finished, he said to Peter, “Now row out to deep water to cast your nets and you will have a great catch.”  Later we see Peter with such a catch, such a harvest that he has to call for others to assist; it was too much to take in alone!

I will say it again and again until everyone grabs it, I believe with all my heart 2019 is the year for our abundant harvest. There’s a release in the Spirit realm that will change your life and ministry forever if you’ll tap in this year! It’s harvest time for souls, breakthrough, and release of all the resources needed for ministry and life. Read 2 Chronicles 20:20, Amos 3:7, Galatians 6:6-9.  “Our preparation for increase will determine how much increase we receive.” Say this with me, “Lord, help me to think bigger and not limit you!!!”

Notice, Jesus didn’t say launch out into the shallow water, instead He commanded them to launch out into the deep or deeper water.  The word deep used here means deeper things in the Lord; miracles, greater harvest, etc. I hear the Lord saying, this year we’ve got to be willing to launch out beyond where we’ve been or have gone before, doing what He tells us to do. It is time for us to confess what we have never spoken because we believe what we have never believed while seeing what GRACE has already made available for our lives!

Moving into deep water requires a full commitment. It means you weigh, anchor, and set your sails to catch the wind of the Spirit. It means you leave the shallow behind — fully surrendered to the direction of the Captain, Holy Spirit.  God wants to bless you—big-time! It is for this reason He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch”.  The deep is where you will find an abundance of fish.  Fish is always a type or shadow of a harvest. We find the word fish throughout the New Testament in several places and each time it is symbolic to a harvest. Read Matthew 14:16-22; 17:24-27 for some examples.  To launch out into the deep is to move away from the comfort of the shoreline.

This year, God wants you to break away from your comfort zone and step out in faith to do what He has put in your heart.  It may be something simple that you’ve never done before, only dreamt of, for example having a happy marriage or being secure in who you are as a single parent.

Beloved, God wants to give you more than what you need. His dream for you is bigger than anything you can imagine. Dream big and watch God delight in giving you exceedingly abundantly above all you ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).  God wants to bless you beyond your wildest dreams.  He did it for Simon who was astonished at the size of the fish caught (Luke 5:9). However, it wasn’t until Simon launched out into the deep that he experienced the net-breaking, boat-sinking load of fish (Luke 5:6–7). God wants all of us to have an astonishing catch, but it won’t happen until we step out of our comfort zone and launch out into the deep with the Lord!

As you prepare to launch, consider this points –

  • Launch out into the deep…even if, despite great effort, you have failed in the past (Luke 5:5).  Simon explained that he and his associates had struck out overnight.  Jesus was telling him not to worry about the past. He’s telling us the same thing today. If you have failed in trying to do right or have succeeded in doing wrong, don’t give up hope, Launch out again!
  • Launch out into the deep…at the prompting of God’s Word (Luke 5:5). Simon was willing; what a great character trait. He tells Jesus, “Nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” Simon says, “I value and respect your word enough to try again where I failed in the past.” Do we trust God’s promises and revere God’s commands enough to keep trying when biting off big things for the Lord?
  • Launch out into the deep…requires involving others with you (Luke 5:7).  Of course, with the Lord’s help, Simon became a success. In fact, the disciple knew immediately that he was not big enough to tackle his opportunities alone; he involved his partners.  In the Lord’s church today, each of us as Christians are partners together with Christ (2 Corinthians 5:18-6:1) for the task is so great and too much for one alone.
  • Launch out into the deep…and watch astonishing things happen (Luke 5:9-11).  The word “launch” is from a Greek word that means bring up, stir up, excite, lead back. It specifically means “put out to sea”. The same word was used in a previous verse to describe that Christ’s boat had already been launched.  The sense is more like “push out” where you can “push out” from land and still “push out” into deeper water; also note, it is a command.

I believe there are 3 harvests God wants to bring in our lives this year; brand new people (souls), money and resources needed to do ministry, and miracles just as Elijah experienced in 1 Kings 17-18.

Men and Women of God it is time.  Janice and I have launched into the deep and are leading those God has given to us to do the same.  There is no turning or looking back.
